Uses disgarded cigar box as containment for radio workings. Very popular for post-war handbuilt construction. However ; I had to "deepen" by 3 cm the box by adding some suitably crafted wall extensions, in order to fit the componentry inside. Construction is on a clear piece of polycarbonate, which sits on pillars. This allows easy removal of "workings" from box. Circuit uses the well known MK484 - successor to ZN414 and others (TO92 package): radio on a chip, followed by a complementary-symmentry audio output stage, using discrete components. The likes of an LM 386 could well be utilized here. Tunes medium wave broadcast band; 500 ~ 1500 KHz pictures : scroll down and across. Circuit: |
